As the business of life continues to increase in this fast-paced world we live in, many of us find it difficult to balance home, work and relationships. Learning to create a healthy balance is possible when we realize how our executive functioning skills impact our lives daily. Identifying our strengths and weaknesses can lead us to feeling more relaxed, organized and ready to commit and engage in healthier behaviors. We offer individual coaching sessions, as well as parent support sessions.
Executive function and self-regulation skills are the mental processes that enable us to plan and focus attention on our goals with clarity. We use these abilities every single day in order to not only get things done, but to also enjoy life while doing so!
A variety of assessments are used to assess executive functions, including formal one-on-one sessions, standardized checklists, observations & interviews. From these measures, conclusions may be drawn on the use or lack thereof in a particular client's life.
One of the most important tools you can use to improve executive functioning skills is time management. Practicing time management is done by creating checklists. Make a list of everything you do daily, starting with the most time consuming to the least time consuming. Check off each item on the list as it's completed and estimate how long each task will take, so that when things get stressful or overwhelming for you, there are some relief valves in place (you know what they say: "an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure.")
Make sure all assignments have due dates written right at the top of each page & break long assignments into chunks and assign time frames for completing each assignment. Also, it's a good idea to use calendars to keep track of longer-term assignments, due dates and activities.
Individual session rates are 75.00 per 50-minute session. We offer individual half sessions for 45.00 per 30-minute session.
